A division of First Books, Inkwater Press is a progressive publisher who believes in providing personalized attention to each of our authors. We have published more than 400 titles, including fiction and nonfiction, children's books and poetry.
How long does the publishing process take?
Typically, it takes about four months from the time we receive your final manuscript to the time your book is published. However, because each book has its own customized plan, this time may vary depending on your book's particular circumstances.
How is Inkwater different than other publishers?
Each project receives customized, individualized attention. Your book is never just a number to us; each author is important.
What can Inkwater do to help me sell my book?

I have published a book with another publisher, but my book didn't sell as well as I'd hoped. How can Inkwater help market my book?

How will my book be made available?
For packages including distribution through Inkwater Press, your book title, cover, and description would be listed on your own page on our online bookstore, Inkwater Books, and your title information is uploaded to online sites such as Amazon.com and Borders.com and Powells.com. Your information is also listed with Books in Print and with the book wholesalers Baker and Taylor.
In addition, we market books to nontraditional markets, including corporations, nonprofit organizations, arts and literary festivals, and other venues.

What do you do to help protect the environment?
All of the books published by our parent company, First Books, are printed on recycled paper stock. All Inkwater Press vendors offer the option of printing on recycled paper as well.
